Healthy Families IRC

Healthy Families IRC is designed to assist Indian River County parents who are experiencing stressful life situations with guidance and emotional support in the comfort of their own homes. Our dedicated Family Support Specialists partner with families to promote positive relationships and the healthy development of children.

Our Family Support Specialists arrange regular home visits with families to provide the following services:

  • One-on-one support and encouragement
  • Promote positive parent-child relationships
  • Provide early childhood education
  • Promote healthy childhood growth and development
  • Enhance problem-solving skills
  • Establish short and long-term goal setting
  • Enhance parent's ability to create stable and nurturing home environments
  • Assist in ensuring that family's social and medical needs are met
  • Empower families to be self-sufficient and self-advocate

Want to know how you can participate?

All pregnant women and parent(s) with infants up to two weeks old may be eligible to participate in Healthy Families. Eligibility is determined through either the universal Healthy Start screen provided by your OB doctor or a Healthy Families IRC assessment available through Healthy Families. Eligibility is not determined by income.

Program participation is voluntary and all services are offered at no charge.

Healthy Families IRC is a Certified Credentialed Program which has met the standards for home visitations established in the critical elements of the Healthy Families America initiative.
